SMU quarterback Kevin Jennings exited in the 1st quarter of action at Louisville after a long run to put the Mustangs at the Louisville 5-yard line.

Quarterback Preston Stone came in and after a false start, threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to put the Mustangs up 14-7 on the Cardinals. Stone threw the pass to wide receiver Key’Shawn Smith, capping a 75-yard scoring drive.

Jennings did try to go back into the game after the false start, but SMU head coach Rhett Lashlee kept him off the field for the play. Jennings returned to the field on the ensuing drive after the SMU defense gave up a Louisville field goal.

At the time of publishing, SMU led 14-10 with 2:51 to play in the 1st quarter.
