About SMU: SMU is coming off a comeback win over UAB on Sunday, grabbing a 72-69 win in Moody Coliseum. SMU pulled off the victory after an 8-0 second-half run erased a three-point deficit and gave them the lead at 70-65 with 57 seconds remaining in the half. Chuck Harris scored 10 of his 14 points in the 2nd half as the Mustangs mounted a comeback. Rob Lanier’s squad is averaging 15.9 assists (1st AAC) against just 11.7 turnovers. Lanier’s team had four players score in double-figures against the Blazers. After grabbing a win against a team near the top of the league, SMU faces one of the teams in the cellar of the conference, but have won two straight.

About Rice: The Owls looking for their third straight win after defeating UTSA on Saturday, 80-76. Rice is led by fifth-year senior guard Travis Evee, who is scoring 15.7 points per game, good for eighth in the American. Sophomore guard Mekhi Mason is second on the team with 14.7 points, and 2.7 assists while placing third with 4.0 rebounds. Rice is connecting on 43.9% from the field and 33.3% from three. Its opponents are connecting on 45.0% from the field and 35.6% from beyond the arc. The Owls are outrebounding their opponents, 36.4-to-35.6.

The Mustangs hold a 120-77 advantage in the series, including having won the last two meetings and nine of the last 12.
