About SMU: UAB rallied to a 74-70 victory over SMU on Sunday night, closing out the regular season of the American Athletic Conference. The Mustangs went 1-4 down the stretch of the regular season, falling out of the Top 4 of the AAC standings to sit as the sixth seed heading into the AAC Tournament. Zhuric Phelps finished with 18 points to lead the Mustangs against UAB. Chuck Harris added 17 points and Tyreek Smith scored 10. SMU needs its defense to step back up in a big way heading into the conference tournament.

About Temple: Zion Stanford scored 19 points and Hysier Miller hit what proved to be the game-winning three-pointer with 50 second remaining as the Temple University men’s basketball team won its first game in the American Athletic Conference Tournament since 2018 with a 64-61 victory against the UTSA Roadrunners on Wednesday afternoon. The Owls turned the ball over just nine times, its eighth consecutive game with 10 giveaways or less and the sixth time in the span the team has been in single digits.

Up Next: With a win, SMU would face No. 3 Charlotte in the quarterfinal on Friday at 8 p.m.
