Georgia Tech closed the gap at the end of this game, but SMU was in total control pretty much since the opening tipoff. Up next for SMU, is a trip to Charlottesville to take on the Virginia Cavaliers. SMU already beat UVA earlier in the season and will look for a similar result on January 15 at 8 p.m. CT.

SMU already has four players in double figures: BJ Edwards, Chuck Harris, Yohan Traore, and Matt Cross. The Mustangs have numerous options on offense no matter who is on the floor and that is on full display today.
The flow of the game has slowed down in the second half

The defense continues to be a positive for SMU today, however the offensive production has slowed down in the second half compared to the first. Chuck Harris remains the only player in the game to reach double figures so far, but that will change in the second half. SMU is letting their anger out on Georgia Tech after a couple of tough games against Duke and UNC.

This is a much needed offensive outpour from SMU after back-to-back games where they struggled. The points are distributed evenly throughout the team, but Chuck Harris still leads the team in scoring with 11 points.

The Mustangs are shooting 59% from the floor and hold a 25-13 advantage over the Yellow Jackets. There certainly seems to be improvements on the defensive end in the first half here compared to SMU’s last couple of games. SMU has created seven turnovers thus far and it has allowed them to get out in transition for easy baskets.

The Mustangs are up 11-2 with 16:29 left in the first half and are getting out in transition more already in this game than they did against Duke or North Carolina. Boopie Miller has three assists on four SMU field goals.
