Maryland 3, SMU 0: After a long SMU drive ended with a turnover on downs inside the redzone, Maryland worked its way down the field on its first drive. SMU’s defense locked it down inside its own redzone, resulting in a field goal from the Terps.
Maryland 3, SMU 3: SMU answered with a drive of its own, going 11 plays and 65 yards over 3:49 to tie it at 3. Tanner Mordecai had a chance to score the game’s first touchdown, but he and tight end RJ Maryland just couldn’t connect. After Tre Siggers was stuffed short, Collin Rogers tied the game up.
SMU 6, Maryland 3: Maryland fumbled the ensuing kickoff and SMU recovered it. While the Mustangs couldn’t get much going on the drive, kicker Collin Rogers nailed a 43-yarder to make it 6-3, SMU.
END OF FIRST QUARTER
SMU 13, Maryland 3: SMU opened the quarter with a 51-yard pitch and catch from Mordecai to Maryland. The Mustangs took a 13-3 lead, capping a 7-play, 75-yard touchdown drive that took up 2:19.
SMU 13, Maryland 10: Maryland works their way down the field, scoring on a 1-yard TD. SMU needs DeVere Levelston back badly. 11-play, 65-yard scoring drive in 4:58. Antwain Littleton II makes it 13-10, SMU, with 5:43 to go in the first half.
Maryland 17, SMU 13: After a Mordecai interception, Tagovailoa didn’t waste time. He hit Rakim Jarrett for a 48-yard touchdown pass to give the Terps a lead on the first play.

SMU 20, Maryland 17: SMU didn’t waste time answering, going 75 yards in seven plays to retake the lead. Mordecai pitched it to Austin Upshaw, who took it in for a 13-yard touchdown pass. The Mustangs kept the drive alive with a few key conversions.
END OF FIRST HALF
Maryland 20, SMU 20: Maryland took the ball and went right down the field to open the half, but self-inflicted wounds cost the Terps a touchdown. After a holding, a Maryland touchdown was wiped off the board. That led to a 41-yard field goal, tying it at 20.
SMU 27, Maryland 20: SMU took over after an impressive punt return by Moochie Dixon and drove just 37 yards for a touchdown. Dixon, who set SMU up with great field position, caught the touchdown pass from Mordecai to put SMU up by a touchdown. Rice caught a 4th down conversion from Mordecai to extend the drive and move the Mustangs into the redzone.

SMU 27, Maryland 27: Maryland took over after a missed SMU field goal and went down the field to tie the game at 27. Roman Hemby tied it with his 1-yard touchdown run. That capped a 9-play, 68-yard scoring drive.
Maryland 34, SMU 27: SMU’s rush defense faltered as Hemby picked up yards on top of yards on the scoring drive. Dyches picked up a 4th down conversion before scoring the go-ahead touchdown.
