About SMU: The Mustangs have won five straight after an 87-79 win at Tulane on Thursday. SMU is 12-2 at home this season and has won eight straight at Moody Coliseum. Zhuric Phelps (14.6) and Chuck Harris (13.5) lead the way for the Mustangs in scoring. Harris exploded for 25 points as SMU had five players in double-figures. SMU’s defensive performance hasn’t been what it was earlier this season, but the offense has stepped up enough to put the Mustangs in contention for the regular season championship.

About Memphis: Memphis is coming off a 76-66 defeat at North Texas Thursday night that halted the Tigers’ three-game win streak. David Jones is the only player in the nation to average at least 21 points, seven rebounds and two steals per game this season. Prior to falling to North Texas, Memphis had been climbing back into the Top 4 picture of the AAC. Offense isn’t the issue for the Tigers, averaging 80.2 points per game. Jahvon Quinerly, who hit the game-winning 3 against SMU earlier this season, has had six or more assists in four of his last five games.

This is the second meeting between the programs this season after Memphis won 62-59 at the FedExForum on January 7.

Up Next: The Mustangs have a two-game road swing at [24/rv] Florida Atlantic on Thursday and South Florida on Feb. 25.
