The SMU Mustangs look to get back in the win column on the road against NC State after a tough defeat to Louisville earlier in the week.
SMU comes into the game with a 14-5 (5-3) record on the season, while the Wolfpack sit at 9-9 (2-5) entering Saturday’s game.

01/25/2025 01:00:41 PMSMU escapes Raleigh with a tight win over the Wolfpack. It was an up and down win for SMU, but coming out with the win is all that matters. There were moments in both halves where SMU seemed much stronger and inferior. Ultimately, Samet Yiğitoğlu got SMU across the finish line with 20 points. Four of those 20 points came from goin 4/4 from the free-throw line. SMU advances to 15-5 (6-3) on the season and will return home to take on Cal next week.
NC State looking to get back into the game
01/25/2025 12:35:51 PMAfter SMU extended their lead up to 15, NC state has cut the advantage down to seven points. The Wolfpack are playing much better defense in the second half, and causing SMU to go on numerous scoring droughts. Andy Enfield just used a timeout after the Mustangs gave up a basket and turned the ball over on the inbound. SMU holds a 52-45 lead over NC State with 8:12 left to play in regulation.
SMU picking up where they left off in second half
01/25/2025 12:15:14 PMThe Mustangs have come out of halftime shooting the ball well. SMU holds a 42-32 lead over NC State with 14:32 remaining in the second half. Samet continues to cause all sorts of problems for the Wolfpack as he is quickly up to 16 points on the day already.

01/25/2025 11:49:27 AMAfter a slow start for SMU, the Mustangs dominated most of the first half. NC State finished the half without making a field goal in the last eight minutes. That helped SMU go on a 18-1 run which gave the Ponies the breathing room they currently hold. Samet was a bright spot for SMU in the first 20 minutes, scoring eight points. The Turkish freshman leads all scoring.
Game of runs so far
01/25/2025 11:38:29 AMThe Mustangs are on an 15-0 run and lead 31-22, their largest of the game. Kario Oquendo has been efficient, scoring inside and out. He has seven points so far. It’s been a nice answer after a rough start for SMU. With 2:09 to play in the first half, SMU leads 31-22 as they keep extending their lead on this impressive run.
Mustangs fight back
01/25/2025 11:22:01 AMFollowing the NC State 8-0 run, the Mustangs went on a 12-2 run of their own. Chuck Harris knocked down a couple of threes to get SMU back into the game. The game now feels much more even and competitive. Boopie Miller was fouled with 9:09 left in the half as NC State leads 17-14.
Another slow start for SMU
01/25/2025 11:13:38 AMNC State started the game on a 8-0 which finally ended after Boopie Miller made a floater to get SMU on the board. With 15:40 remaining in the first half, the Wolfpack leads 8-2. Starting slow is becoming a theme as of late for SMU.
