BREAKING: Missouri OL transfer Hyrin White commits to SMU
Missouri transfer offensive lineman Hyrin White committed to SMU, he announced on Instagram. The DeSoto, Texas native has one year of eligibility remaining.
White missed the 2022 season and will play in 2023 due to a medical redshirt.
In 2021, he was a Pro Football Focus All-SEC honorable mention after starting all 11 games. Hyrin White blocked for a Mizzou offense that averaged over 400 yards of offense per game, 29.1 points per game and totaled 44 touchdowns.
In 2020, he didn’t play due to injury. In 2018 and 2019, he played in a combined 19 games. The former three-star prospect redshirted in 2017.
According to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, White was the No. 51 overall offensive tackle and No. 69 overall prospect in Texas.

SMU adding plenty of transfer talent
White joins Miami transfers Key’Shawn Smith, Jordan Miller, Elijah Roberts, Jaylan Knighton, West Virginia transfer defensive back Charles Woods and Stanford defensive back Jonathan McGill as transfer commits for SMU. Head coach Rhett Lashlee and his staff are balancing preparing for the New Mexico Bowl with transfer recruiting.
“We have to be out actively recruiting, but at the same time preparing for a game in less than two weeks,” Lashlee said last week. “We’re out recruiting hard this week. We had a good practice over the weekend. We’ll be able to practice some this weekend and try and get in a normal game week routine in terms of leading up to the game a week from Saturday, but also still recruiting non-stop, in and out until we leave Wednesday for the bowl site.”
The Mustangs will face BYU on Dec. 17 at 6:30 p.m. CT on ABC.
