Arizona State landed a commitment from Oklahoma defensive line transfer Kori Roberson, he announced. SMU hosted him for an official visit earlier this month.

Roberson did not record any statistics for the 2022 season. He entered the NCAA Transfer Portal after going through spring practice with the Sooners.

In 2021, Roberson played in 12 games, making 17 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and a half-sack. In 2020, he played in 10 games with four starts, making 11 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, a sack and a pass breakup.

In 2019, he played in four games while redshirting, making one tackle and a tackle for loss.

This spring, he lost his home in February to a tornado that ripped through Oklahoma. He shared the home with his sister and considers himself lucky, he told reporters.

“That first day, we really couldn’t do much because there was so much insulation and things going around the house,” Roberson said, “but my teammates came out that next day right after practice and helped me out tremendously. We cleared the house, swept, sprayed, everything you could think of. I want to thank my teammates and also my coaches again for helping out. That was very — it meant a lot to me. Me and my family.”

Roberson played high school football at Manvel High school in Texas, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 428 overall recruit in the 2019 cycle, according to On3’s Industry Rankings, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
