SMU tight end RJ Maryland exited the 40-10 win over Stanford Saturday night. Head coach Rhett Lashlee gave an update on his status after the game.

“I don’t,” Lashlee said when asked if he had an update on his star tight end. “It’s unfortunate. It hit just right so we’ll see. We won’t know until we get the imaging done on Monday. He wasn’t in a lot of pain so that was positive. It was a pretty violent hit right on his knee.”

RJ Maryland had two receptions for 55 yards and a touchdown against Stanford, both coming in the 1st half. Maryland was hurt on a bubble screen on SMU’s 1st drive of the 2nd half. He tried to walk off, but eventually went down and was helped off by medical staff.

Up next for SMU is a huge matchup at Duke at 7 p.m. CT on ACC Network on Saturday. The Mustangs will await word on RJ Maryland for that matchup.
