WATCH: Scott Symons assesses SMU defense on bye week
SMU defensive coordinator Scott Symons met with the media on the bye week to recap the loss to BYU and look ahead to what the Mustangs must correct. Check out the video below from the defensive play caller.
“I thought we played really hard. I thought our coaches did a good job getting our guys in position to make plays. I thought we tackled well. I thought that was our best tackling game by far. I think if you play hard and you tackle well, you give yourself a chance to be in ball games,” Symons said this week. “I thought our 3rd down execution was really good. Obviously, the one big 4th down stop was huge for us. We’d have gotten one more of those, which I put both of those on me that they converted on, I think it’s a different game. I thought our kids played really hard and tackled well and gave ourselves a chance.”
