SMU completes 2025 schedule with East Texas A&M non-conference game

A week before SMU hosts Baylor in a massive in-state game at Ford Stadium, the Mustangs will kick off the 2025 season with a home game against East Texas A&M. The school announced the non-conference game on Thursday, completing its 2025 slate of opponents.
SMU will learn its ACC opener on Friday and the full schedule on Monday.
Baylor comes to Ford Stadium on Sat., Sept. 6, SMU travels to Missouri State on Sat., Sept. 13 and then heads to TCU in the final scheduled Battle for the Iron Skillet on Sat., Sept. 20.
SMU hosts Louisville, Miami, Stanford and Syracuse while heading on the road to Boston College, Cal, Clemson and Wake Forest.
The ACC slate for Saturday, August 30, is highlighted by three ACC/SEC matchups, including a neutral site tilt between Syracuse and Tennessee in Atlanta, LSU at Clemson, and Florida State hosting Alabama. Georgia Tech will travel to Colorado, Cal will hit the road to take on Oregon State, and Virginia will play at home versus Coastal Carolina in the two teams’ season opener. Other ACC Week 1 contests include in-state matchups at home in Boston College versus Fordham, Duke against Elon, Louisville versus Eastern Kentucky, and Pitt hosting Duquesne.

The ACC Huddle: Football Schedule Release special will announce the full 2025 ACC football schedule on Monday from 8-10 p.m. CT on ACC Network, with the first hour from 8-9 p.m. CT simulcast on ESPN2.
SMU is coming off an 11-win season for the second straight year, having made the College Football Playoff and appeared in the ACC Championship game.
