SMU DE Elijah Roberts, DT Jared Harrison-Hunte headed to Shrine Bowl
SMU defensive end Elijah Roberts accepted his invitation to the 2025 Shrine Bowl, the 100th edition of the all-star showcase for NFL scouts. He joins fellow Mustang defensive lineman Jared Harrison-Hunte having accepted his invitation to the event.
Roberts has been a key piece for SMU’s defense the past two seasons, playing his way from relatively unknown Miami transfer to star defender. This season, he amassed 35 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks and 11 quarterback hurries. He was among the nation’s leaders in pressures, per PFF.
Harrison-Hunte has collected 42 tackles, 8.5 TFLs and 6.5 sacks this season. He also has one interception with a 13-yard return. He’ll have a chance at the Shrine Bowl to build off his All-ACC first team selection.
The East-West Shrine Bowl is the longest-running college all-star football game in the nation. An important part of America’s football tradition, the event gives top college players a chance to showcase their talents to NFL scouts and a national television audience.
