The SMU Mustangs will face off against the Duke Blue Devils on Oct. 26. at 7 p.m. CT on the ACC Network, the league announced Monday.

SMU heads to Stanford on Saturday in a 7 p.m. CT matchup on ACC Network. Since starting ACC play, the Mustangs have spent plenty of time on the ACC Network, which coincides with where the ACC Huddle crew goes.

Rhett Lashlee’s Mustangs are 5-1 and now the No. 21 team in the country, according to the AP Top 25. SMU moved up four spots in the AP Poll, while jumping up to 23rd in the US LBM Coaches Poll. The Mustangs were one of four ACC teams to be included in both polls, joining Miami, Clemson and Pittsburgh.

SMU’s coming off a bye week, which came after a 3-0 stretch for the Mustangs that included wins over TCU, Florida State and Louisville. Using the bye week was an opportunity for the offense to continuing to develop in the right direction.

“I think we’ve cleaned up a lot of penalties, we could still be better there,” offensive coordinator Casey Woods said last week. “There’s certainly things that we’ve got to take next steps. That’s the beauty of building each team every single year, we’re past the baby steps, we’re past running the right play, now we’ve got to run the play the right way. Then, maybe, we’ve got to understand running the right play the right way, the reason why we’re running it the right way so the next time it clicks why, ‘I’m grabbing this guy’s attention so he can run this route.’ Or, ‘I’m clearing this gap because I understand I’ve got a split flow coming behind me.’

“I think there’s leaning into the detail now about we know who we are, we know who we want to be, we know personnel-wise how it is we can drive this thing, it’s how detailed can we be now that we know the course that we’re on?”
