SMU wasn’t done in the 2025 class, flipping Arizona State wide receiver commit Link Rhodes, he announced after an official visit. He committed to the Sun Devils last month, but will now head to play for the Mustangs.

This season in 10 games at Delta College, he caught 46 passes for 607 yards and four touchdowns, good for 13.2 yards per catch. Rhodes also held offers from San Diego State, Wyoming, Sacramento State, New Mexico, Louisiana Tech and others.

Rhodes brings some serious speed to the table. Rhodes clocked a 10.59 in the CCCAA state championship 100-meter dash finals in May.

“Without God, none of that would be possible. I got faster over time just because I ran track and got helped by my track coach,” Rhodes told 247Sports after he committed to Arizona State. “I placed seventh overall (in the state championship meet). I was the only football player lined up with all sprinters. I’m fast and I got good ball skills.”

In two years at Delta College, he caught 54 passes for 701 yards and four scores over 18 games. The Las Vegas native will have four seasons to play of eligibility remaining.

SMU now has another wide receiver in the 2025 class with Rhodes. He joins high school additions in four-star Jalen Cooper, four-star Daylon Singleton, three-star Carterrious Brown and three-star Isaiah Robertson.

SMU had the 31st-ranked recruiting class in the country, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.
