SMU flips UCF transfer DB Chasen Johnson from USC
UCF transfer cornerback Chasen Johnson flipped from USC to SMU, On3 learned Saturday night. After an official visit earlier this week, Johnson committed to the Trojans, but has actually signed with the Mustangs.
He’ll have four years to play three seasons of eligibility remaining and will have an immediate impact for SMU.
Chasen Johnson played 452 snaps his true freshman season for UCF. Down the stretch, the former Seminole High standout started four out of the final five games and had a total of 14 tackles with two pass defections. On the season as a whole, he had 18 total tackles.
South Carolina, USC and Auburn are programs he also looked at and he visited Baylor last week as well.

SMU loses cornerback Brandon Crossley to graduation and needs an additional starter to come in and shore up a group that’s ranked 91st nationally in passing yards allowed. The 6-1, 180-pound UCF transfer would be a good bet to start right away for the Mustangs.
