SMU Football is showing the priority Dallas is by hitting the area high schools hard all week in recruiting with coaches on the road. The Mustangs extended some new offers and will stop in to see some commitments as well.

SMU offered 2025 Denton (Tex.) Ryan offensive lineman Marcus Garcia on Wednesday, jumping into the mix for the four-star prospect. On3 ranks the 6-5, 250-pounder as the No. 196 overall prospect, No. 11 interior offensive lineman and No. 32 prospect in Texas. Baylor, Florida State, Purdue, TCU and others have also offered him.

The Mustangs also jumped in on another highly-recruited prospect. SMU offered 2025 Gunter (Tex.) defensive back Colin Peacock, who holds numerous big offers already. While Peacock is not rated, Baylor, Kansas, Oklahoma and others have also offered him.

Wide receivers coach Rob Likens stopped by Frisco (Tex.) Panther Creek to see a pair of FBS prospects. 2025 athlete Sentel Simpson and 2026 wide receiver Jalen Lott are two notable players at the new program. Lott holds an offer from SMU already as well as numerous others across the country.

Defensive line coach Calvin Thibodeaux swung through Sachse High, where SMU offer Kaliq Lockett, one of the nation’s best 2025 wideouts, plays. According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Lockett is the No. 58 overall prospect and No. 7 wide receiver in the nation.

Cornerbacks coach Rickey Hunley stopped through Richardson (Tex.) Berkner to see four-star defensive back target Kobi Foreman. Foreman is one of the nation’s top overall athletes, ranking as the No. 256 overall prospect and No. 29 cornerback in the country, according to On3.

The coaches hit well into double-digit high schools on Wednesday with more to come as SMU hits the recruiting trail.
