SMU Football learns Oklahoma, more game times
SMU Football will kick off the 2023 season at 11 a.m. CT on Sept. 2 on ESPNU against Louisiana Tech inside Ford Stadium, the school announced on Wednesday.
The Mustangs enter the second season under Rhett Lashlee’s leadership with two marquee non-conference games, against Oklahoma and TCU. The game in Norman on Sept. 9 against the Sooners will kick off at 5 p.m. CT on ESPN+.
SMU hosts Prairie View A&M on Sept. 16 at 6 p.m. CT on ESPN+.
SMU heads to Ft. Worth to face the Horned Frogs on Sept. 23, but that final non-conference game time is to be determined still.
While the American Athletic Conference opener against Charlotte on Sept. 30 is still to be determined, a trio of game times were determined for league play.

SMU will face East Carolina on Thurs., Oct. 12 in Greenville, N.C. at 6:30 p.m. CT on ESPN. The Mustangs then have a long week for preparations for another road matchup, this time at Temple on Fri., Oct. 20 at 6 p.m. CT on ESPN2.
The first SMU-North Texas matchup as league foes is set for Fri., Nov. 10 in Ford Stadium at 8 p.m. CT on ESPN2.
The rest of SMU’s slate is to be determined. The Mustangs finished 7-6 in the first season under Lashlee’s direction, which included winning four of the last five regular season games before a New Mexico Bowl loss to BYU.
