SMU keeps scoring with commitment from 2026 Lancaster DB Victor Lincoln
2026 Lancaster (Tex.) cornerback Victor Lincoln, who held offers from Arkansas, Boston College and others, committed to SMU on Sunday. His pledge kept a huge weekend for the Mustangs rolling with the news.
“I’m staying home,” he said in his commitment post.
The 6-0, 160-pound defensive back was a top target for cornerbacks coach Rickey Hunley, who has helped rebuild SMU’s defense with defensive coordinator Scott Symons.
With Lincoln’s commitment, he kicks off the class of 2026 for Rhett Lashlee & Co. It could lead to more commits from the talent-rich program.
2026 Lancaster (Tex.) running back Zay Lee, who has been to the Hilltop numerous times including Saturday, is another top target. Baylor, Oregon, TCU and others have also offered him early on.

With Lincoln on board, it’s the start for 2026 for SMU, but the 2025 recruiting class sits among the nation’s best classes, according to On3.
The SMU Mustangs are coming off a 66-42 win over TCU on Saturday and are now 3-1 heading into their ACC opener this week against Florida State.
“I’m just humbled to get to be here. I’m humbled to be the coach at SMU,” SMU head coach Rhett Lashlee said after the game. “I’m humbled to get to live in Dallas, coach those kids in that locker room. Our fans were incredible today. Like I said, this win is just a great win for our entire SMU family and the skillet is here in Dallas and I’ll probably be cooking with cast iron in the morning.”
