2024 Duncanville (Tex.) four-star safety Ka’Davion Dotson-Walker included SMU in his Top 5 schools, he announced over the weekend. Oklahoma State, LSU, TCU and Texas also made the cut.

He’s locked in a pair of summer official visits, he told On3 earlier this month. Oklahoma State will host him June 9-11 before in-state SMU hosts him June 22-24. LSU, Texas, and TCU are among the programs also looking at visits with the highly-touted prospect.

Cornerbacks coach Rickey Hunley is building a strong relationship with him. SMU is prioritizing many of Dallas’ best to join the program, both out of high school and from the transfer portal.

“They’re building a good program at SMU. They’re building the facility,” Dotson-Walker said. “Everything. I feel like they’re building the city up with SMU. They’re making it a Dallas program.”

Dotson-Walker, one of the top safety prospects in the country, captured a state title in December with the Panthers. Throughout the season, the 6-foot, 185-pounder was a moveable piece in the secondary.

LSU leads the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine and hosted him this spring. The Tigers were named his leader last month.

“Why not LSU? DBU? NFLSU? That’s how I feel about them,” he said.

According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Dotson-Walker ranks as the No. 236 overall prospect in the country, No. 20 safety in the nation and No. 45 prospect in Texas.
