SMU WR Roderick Daniels, Jr. meets with media during bye week

The SMU Mustangs will kick off against the Florida State Seminoles on Sat., Sept. 28 at 7 p.m. CT on ACC Network, the league announced Monday. It’ll be the team’s first ever football game as a member of the ACC.

This week, SMU plays host to TCU at 4 p.m. CT on The CW. The Mustangs are looking to circle the wagons after a disappointing loss to BYU before their bye week, falling 18-15.

Three straight losses have seen the Seminoles begin 2024 with a 0-3 record, the second time it’s happened in Mike Norvell’s tenure. After entering the season ranked No. 10 in the country, the Seminoles’ offense has bene up-and-down with new quarterback DJ Uiagalelei coming in from the transfer portal, and those struggles continued in Week 3.

This week, Florida State and Cal will square off Saturday at 6 p.m. CT. Florida State opened as a 5.5-point favorite over Cal in the matchup, according to FanDuel. FSU totaled 237 yards against Memphis, including just 37 on the ground.
