SMU offers 2025 4-star QB Keelon Russell
2025 Duncanville (Tex.) quarterback Keelon Russell now holds an offer from SMU, he announced on Twitter. The four-star prospect won a state title as a sophomore.
Ole Miss, Purdue, Memphis, North Texas and TCU have all extended offers over the last few months. TCU leads the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine for Russell.
On3 ranks him as a four-star prospect. He is the 87th overall prospect in the 2025 class as well as the No. 8 quarterback and 16th-ranked recruit in the state of Texas.
As a sophomore, Russell helped Duncanville to a perfect 15-0 record and the Texas 6A D-I state championship. He tossed the rock for 2,377 yards and 22 touchdowns, completing 66.9 percent of his passes. He also ran the football 48 times for 203 yards and three more scores.

A top performer at Under Armour Dallas, Russell’s continued his ascent in recruiting rankings after his impressive sophomore campaign.
“His athleticism and ability to deliver an accurate football outside the pocket was very impressive,” On3 rankings assistant Cody Bellaire said. “He stood out during the workout.”
In the 2025 class, Russell joins 4-star QB George MacIntyre, 4-star Oklahoma commit Kevin Sperry, 4-star QB Wyatt Becker, Kelden Ryan, Ashton Beierly, Landyn Locke, Ty Hawkins, Max Gerlich and Sawyer Anderson as the quarterback offers for SMU.
