SMU OL Justin Osborne leaves Oklahoma game with injury

SMU offensive lineman Justin Osborne left the game against Oklahoma in the 1st quarter, leaving the Mustangs without their starting right guard. Ben Sparks was inserted into the lineup for Osborne.
Osborne, who has started 32 games for the Mustangs, has been a key piece to the offensive line the last three seasons. He’s in his 4th season as a starter for SMU.
This offseason, Osborne had back surgery. He missed all of the spring and then returned for fall camp as a full participant. As fall camp got going, he was feeling good as he got back to practice with his team.

“Feels good you know. This probably the best my body’s felt and I’m ready to get back out here and get going and practicing every day,” Osborne said at the beginning of SMU fall camp. “(The recovery) was quite the process taking step by step, making sure that I feel the best I can you before I step into that next phase of the recovery. I’m glad to be back out here. I’m glad to be running with the boys. Nothing better. Nothing else I’d rather be doing.”
