2025 Duncanville (Tex.) quarterback and SMU commit Keelon Russell made a big move in the latest On300 rankings. The four-star back-to-back state champion is now a Top 100 prospect for On3.

Russell is now the No. 81 overall prospect in the country, No. 8 quarterback in America and the No. 16 prospect in the Lone Star State. He’s the top-ranked signal caller in Texas.

He was ranked as the No. 123 overall prospect in the country, No. 10 quarterback in the nation and No. 23 prospect in Texas.

Russell was on hand for the SMU Spring Game earlier this month, seeing the Mustangs in action. Head coach Rhett Lashlee and quarterbacks coach D’Eriq King spent plenty of time with him.

“It was amazing, love it up there,” Russell told On3. “Seen a lot from the QBs like pressure throws and more. They said that they can’t wait to have me behind the center. The coaches were amazing. Great atmosphere.”

Ahead of his senior season, Russell wants his decision finalized. In-state Texas A&M hosted him for a visit this month while Texas is expecting him this weekend, both have quarterbacks already committed. Alabama, Baylor, Houston, Ole Miss, Oregon and Florida will likely host him in the coming months. For official visits, he’s got SMU May 17, Ole Miss April 27 and Florida June 7.

Ahead of the updates according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Russell ranked as the No. 99 overall prospect and No. 10 quarterback in the country.
