SMU quarterback Kevin Jennings saw his rating rise on as EA Sports College Football 25 made its first major player ratings update. The former South Oak Cliff Golden Bear saw his rating rise four points to an 84.
Since taking over as the starting quarterback, Jennings led the Mustangs to two huge home wins, beating TCU and Florida State. In those two games, he’s completed 30-of-42 passes (71.4%) for 391 yards and six touchdowns. He’s added 19 carries for 53 yards.
While Jennings is taking steps forward, he sees improvement continuing to come with his group of wideouts. Against FSU, he found wide receiver Jordan Hudson for a touchdown off a flea flicker and tight end RJ Maryland twice for scores.
“Most definitely,” Jennings said of continuing to build chemistry with SMU’s wideouts. “Building timing up. We have a lot of timing routes so just getting the ball to them like when they come out of their breaks is a big thing for us. So, it’s a lot of chemistry being built and we’re still working on it.”
The game returned this summer for the first time in more than a decade. Electronic Arts announced at last month’s Investor Day that EA Sports College Football 25’s release has been “above expectations.” EA the video game has seen 6.5 million unique players to date.
