SMU Basketball starts slow, but still manages to top Cincinnati 76-71 at home
SMU Basketball continued its perfect home record at Moody Coliseum Thursday night, defeating the Cincinnati Bearcats 76-71 to move to 21-7 overall and 12-4 in AAC play.
Despite trailing by six points at the half, 34-28, SMU was able to hang in the game thanks to Kendric Davis‘ first half performance, scoring 15 points on 4-of-7 shooting from the floor.
Weathers’ brothers vital in crunch time
Michael Weathers continued his run of improved play Thursday night, scoring 19 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the floor and was 8-of-9 from the charity stripe. He also chipped in with 11 rebounds, with four of them coming on the offensive side, as well as two assists. Michael Weathers also brought Moody Coliseum to its feet with a monstrous slam dunk with 4:22 left in the second half
Marcus Weathers also continued with his high level of play, scoring 15 points on 4-of-14 shooting from the floor and going 7-of-10 from the free throw line. Marcus Weathers also grabbed eight rebounds while drawing seven fouls throughout the course of the game.
Emmanuel Bandoumel played a vital role in the Mustangs victory, adding 10 points on 2-of-5 shooting from the floor and a perfect 4-of-4 from the free throw line. Bandoumel also chipped in with 10 rebounds and two assists.

Kendric Davis finished the night with a game-high 25 points on 5-of-15 shooting from the floor and going 13-of-14 from the free throw line. Davis also added two rebounds and five assists as he continues to look like the frontrunner for the AAC Player of the Year award.
Quick turnaround for SMU now…
With Tulane set to come to town Sunday, it’ll be a short turnaround for the Mustangs. The Green Wave, who just beat UCF at home, sit at 13-13 on the year and 10-7 in AAC play.
SMU faces Tulane at 2 p.m. CT at Moody Coliseum on Sunday which will be broadcasted on ESPN+. It will be Senior Day for the Mustangs, who are set to recognize their seven seniors as they look to finish a perfect 16-0 at Moody Coliseum on the year.
