The SMU Mustangs will take on Boston College on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 2:30 p.m. CT on ESPN, the school announced Monday. This week, the No. 13 ranked Mustangs are on a bye while BC hosts Syracuse at 11 a.m. CT on Saturday.

SMU’s fresh off a 45-28 beatdown of previously undefeated Pitt Saturday night in Gerald J. Ford Stadium. Boston College was on a bye after losing a week prior in a tough one to Louisville.

SMU’s 5-0 start in conference play is a first for a team jumping into a Power-4/5 conference from a Group of Five in their first season, no other team has started 2-0. The Mustangs have now started 5-0 in conference play for a second straight year, the first time in program history since the 1947 and 1948 seasons.

“I think he’s the greatest coach to ever do, it looks like he knows what he’s talking about to me, the way Kevin played tonight,” Lashlee said. “I think we’re just fine if nobody talking about us. We know how good Kevin is. We don’t need anybody to tell us and neither does Kevin. It’s nice to be recognized, our team, I think our defense, you know, I think our defense doesn’t get talked about enough. But I also don’t care, because I’m proud of them and I’m proud of our staff.

“So pretty cool though, for Nick Saban to say about you, if you’re Kevin, you know, ‘Hey, I think this is maybe the most underrated player in the country,’ and then for (Jennings) to go out and make (Saban) look good.”

Even though Lashlee would prefer the attention to be dialed down, his SMU team is right in the thick of an ACC Championship race and will get a huge platform to perform on again with the ESPN telecast.
