The SMU Mustangs take on the Florida State Seminoles on Saturday night in Dallas as Rhett Lashlee’s team looks to grab a win in its first ever ACC contest.

Last week, it was SMU that beat up rival TCU, 66-42, in Gerald J. Ford Stadium. Mike Norvell’s FSU team nabbed its first win of the season over Cal, winning 14-9.

SMU is a 6.5-point favorite over FSU, according to FanDuel on Thursday. The over/under is set at 47.5. SMU is -230 and FSU is +188 on the moneyline.

While the Seminoles are 1-3 on the year, Lashlee knows what type of talent is rolling into Dallas this weekend. After last week’s win, the Seminoles could be gaining momentum as well.

“This is without question the most athletic and fastest team that we will play and it’s probably the most athletic and fastest team that has come to Ford Stadium in a long long time,” Lashlee said. “Then offensively, I mean they got three big running backs. I know they want to run the football at times this year. They ran it really well and at times they’ve struggled. I know they’ve been struggling but I mean last year DJ was excellent at Oregon State so it’s in there. And so there’s only a matter of time before it clicks. And they got the win last week. They got some momentum.”

FSU left for Dallas a day earlier than planned with Hurricane Helene set to slam into the Florida coast Thursday night. SMU is wrapping up a long home stand that started with its home opener on Aug. 31 against Houston Christian.
