SMU Basketball welcomes Wake Forest on Saturday at Moody Coliseum at 5 p.m. CT on ACC Network in another key ACC matchup. Andy Enfield’s Mustangs continue to make a push for the NCAA Tournament.
The Mustangs improved to 19-5 overall and 10-3 in the ACC after an 83-63 win over Pitt on Tuesday. SMU has now won five straight and eight of its past nine games.
“We’re trying to win every game. We’re 19-5 right now, 10-3 in the league. We’ve won eight out of nine now. I think we were 2-2, now we’re 10-3. Just really proud of our guys,” Enfield said Tuesday. “We’re 5-1 on the road in the league and that’s really hard to do. We have a maturity about our team. They don’t get rattled. To win on the road like we did last Wednesday against a good Virginia Tech team who’s playing really good basketball. It’s been challenging, but our guys have stuck together and have improved.”

Spread for SMU vs. Wake Forest
Ahead of the matchup, SMU is listed as a 5.5-point favorite over Wake Forest, per OddShark on Friday. The Mustangs are also currently listed at -225 for the moneyline. As for Wake Forest, the Demon Deacons are at +185 on the moneyline. The total is set at 144.5.
Last time out, SMU jumped out to a 16-point advantage at the half and road that to a win over Pitt.
“We really were aggressive, rotating. It puts you in a lot of different situations because our guards are very strict, getting in the lane,” Enfield said after the Pitt game. “Then their big guys can shoot, and they were picking and popping. Then they were setting ball screens with their fours and their fives. So I thought we did a pretty good job, other than a couple mistakes earlier when they hit a couple threes. We just were flying around all over the place and held them to a pretty low percentage in the first half from the field, which helped us a lot.”
