Temple transfer point guard Hysier Miller is returning to the Owls, he announced on Monday. SMU hosted him for an official visit last month. Miller averaged seven points and 2.9 assists in 40 starts over the past two seasons.

He started all 32 games this past season, averaging 8.6 points, 3.8 assists and 3.1 rebounds per game. It was a considerable jump in from the 6-1 guard’s true freshman season.

His freshman season, the door opened for him to play more due to injuries. After injuries in February 2022, he started the final eight games. He averaged 32.3 minutes a game over that stretch, while dropping 9.5 points and three assists per game

“I never felt too much pressure. Even though it was extremely unfortunate what happened to Jeremiah, throughout my career I always expect to play a lot and to be a good guard,” Miller said in an interview with the Philadelphia Digest. “Once I got the opportunity to start, the coaches did a great job keeping the game plan simple and allowing me to do my job. I wanted to take care of the basketball, make good shot decisions, and getting our team into sets.”

SMU continues to search for a veteran guard to add via the NCAA Transfer Portal after Miller returned to Temple.
