Texas A&M DB Deuce Harmon commits to SMU
Texas A&M defensive back Deuce Harmon committed to SMU, he announced on social media. That gives the Mustangs an instant contributor at cornerback with two years of eligibility remaining.
In 2023, the former Denton (Tex.) Guyer standout played in 11 games with six starts for the Aggies. Harmon made 18 tackles, a tackle for loss, seven pass breakups and an interception against Mississippi State.
During his career in College Station, he played in 27 games overall, making 46 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, 10 pass breakups and two interceptions.
According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Harmon ranked as the No. 163 overall prospect in the country and No. 12 cornerback in the nation.

SMU brought in Charles Woods and Chris Megginson as starting cornerbacks last offseason, but has to replace both. The former four-star prospect that just committed is a big step in the right direction for Rickey Hunley’s group in 2024.
Harmon keeps SMU’s transfer portal momentum going
Harmon joins Oklahoma offensive lineman Savion Byrd, Ohio State defensive lineman Omari Abor, Oklahoma offensive lineman Nate Anderson, West Virginia defensive tackle Mike Lockhart, Miami EDGE Jahfari Harvey, Georgia defensive lineman Jonathan Jefferson and Oregon wide receiver Ashton Cozart as commitments for SMU from the NCAA Transfer Portal. The window for transfers opened on Dec. 4 and the Mustangs are hard at work hoping to assemble a quality roster for their first season of ACC play in 2024.
