Texas Tech defensive line transfer Blake Burris committed to SMU, he announced on Twitter Sunday night. He’ll have three years of eligibility remaining.

In 2023, he made two tackles in three games after a knee injury cut out the rest of his season after seeing snaps in the first three games. After redshirting in 2021, he played in all 13 games in 2022 as special teamer.

According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Burris ranked as the No. 115 defensive lineman in the country for the 2021 recruiting class. He prepped at Parish Episcopal in Dallas.
