WATCH: Scott Symons previews SMU vs. Tulane
SMU defensive coordinator Scott Symons met with the media on Tuesday to preview SMU’s matchup with Tulane in the AAC Championship Game on Saturday. Check out the video for his full press conference ahead of the matchup.
“They’re really balanced. Obviously, they’ve got the most experienced quarterback in this league, explosive at receiver,” Symons told reporters. “They haven’t been full go at receiver the last half of the season, but based on everything I think that we’ll see the full gamut of wide outs. They can run the ball really well, have multiple backs. A 1,200-yard-plus rusher, experienced O-line, one of the best centers in the league. So they’re really balanced and I think they sequence plays really well. Meaning there’s always a play to set up the next play and I think they do a great job calling plays and setting those things up in the course of the game.
“They have a quarterback that can stretch the ball vertically and receivers that can stretch the field vertically with a really strong run game. So, as far as a balanced attack goes, this will be the most balanced attack, honestly, we’ve probably seen this season with what they do.”
