WATCH: SMU 4-star commit Demetrius Brisbon shines
2025 Tyler (Tex.) Chapel Hill athlete Demetrius Brisbon committed to SMU, he announced earlier in June. The four-star prospect kicked off the 2025 recruiting class for Rhett Lashlee & Co. in a big way.
On Friday, he was key in his team’s 42-22 win over Nacogdoches. Brisbon ran it 10 times for 177 yards and two scores. Brisbon also went 13-of-16 for 185 yards and two touchdowns. Check out the highlights from his game above.
According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Brisbon ranks as the No. 324 overall prospect in the country and No. 22 athlete in the nation. On3 has him as the No. 200 overall prospect in America and No. 17 overall athlete.
Brisbon was named District 9-4A-I Overall MVP as a sophomore in 2022. He nabbed Texas District 9-4A-I unanimous Offensive Newcomer of the Year honors in 2021after leading Chapel Hill to an 11-4 record and the 4A state semifinals as a freshman.

The four-star prospect held offers from the likes of Arkansas, Houston, LSU, Texas and others.
On3 director of scouting Charles Power likes the production from the new SMU pledge as a quarterback, who is expected to play in the secondary at SMU.
“Demetrius Brisbon has been a very good high school player for going on two seasons at Tyler (Tex.) Chapel Hill,” Power said before Brisbon’s junior year. “He did play some as a freshman in their playoff run. He’s primarily played quarterback and is a guy who’s been very productive on Friday nights. We predicted him as an athlete with his rushing ability. A very good football player. Has a good feel for the game.”
