WATCH: SMU 4-star commit Rickey Stewart dominates
Tyler (Tex.) Chapel Hill running back Rickey Stewart, Jr. committed to the SMU Mustangs, he announced in June. The 2025 prospect was dominant in his team’s 42-22 win on Friday over Nacogdoches.
Stewart carried 14 times for 153 yards and two touchdowns in the win. You can watch highlights of the four-star prospect above.
Stewart held 18 offers before making his commitment, including ones from Alabama, Arkansas, Baylor, Michigan, Ole Miss, and TCU. The coaching staff though played a key role in his pledge. Running backs coach Khenon Hall and special teams coordinator Kyle Cooper keyed his commitment.
“It’s growing well. He (Hall) is a special coach, a coach thats gonna teach you more then just about football,” he said. “Both of those coaches (Hall and Cooper) are special.”
