What Boopie Miller, BJ Edwards said after SMU beat FAMU
SMU guards Boopie Miller and BJ Edwards met with the media after beating Florida A&M on Thursday, 102-73. Here’s what they had to say after improving to 2-0 on the year.
Boopie on lobbying to get triple-double: “Yeah, definitely tried to get it, but I’m just happy we got the win. My teammates got better tonight.”
BJ on comparing FAMU game to Tarleton: “Tonight from the opener, I would say we did good defensively I’d say, but towards the end we gave up some points. I feel like it was a similar game though, honestly.”
Boopie on being able to share point guard duties with BJ, Chuck Harris: “That takes a lot off both of us. I can run the 2, then he can run the 1. It just shows how we locked in in practice, and you just know every spot for every play.”

On SMU learning to communicate on the court: “Building chemistry since May, during practice he would always switch up the teams, so it’s not like starting five, playing against the bench players every day, so we’re learning everybody and obviously off the court, we’re all real cool. We don’t have any bad guys on the team right now. We all got a really good bond.”
Boopie on the work he put in to get Enfield’s trust: “I put the work in with Enfield, the experience he had with guards, I knew I can definitely come in and score and get assists and also rebound, but I’ve always been confident in myself and saying since last year that I can do more.”
