FCS All-American transfer OL commits to South Carolina
South Carolina has landed another commitment out of the transfer portal, as FCS All-American Torricelli Simpkins III has made a pledge to the Gamecocks.
The 6-foot-5, 320-pounder was a third-team FCS All-America selection per Stats Perform following the 2023 season.
The North Carolina native made an official visit to Columbia this week.

Gamecocks head coach Shane Beamer issued his patented “#WelcomeHome” post on social media on Wednesday, signifying Simpkins’ verbal commitment to the program.

Simpkins led the Eagles in pancake blocks and started 12 games on an offensive line that allowed the fewest sacks in the league, according to NC Central’s official athletics website. He was also named MEAC Offensive Lineman of the Week three times in 2023.

Simpkins was the conference’s Offensive Lineman of the Year as well as a first-team All MEAC selection.
He will arrive in Columbia with one season of eligibility and projects to get a look at center at South Carolina.
A three-year starter, Simpkins owns 35 career starts including 11 as a true freshman in 2021.
The Charlotte native signed with NCCU out of Olympic High School.
