Women’s basketball travels to Paris
There’s been a lot South Carolina women’s basketball has accomplished over the past few years. But traveling across the world to play a basketball game was something new.
The Gamecocks opened the 2023-24 season in Paris to play Notre Dame. They showed no signs of jet lag as they pulled off a 100-71 win.
The story of the day was freshman guard MiLaysia Fulwiley, who had 17 points and six assists in her debut. But it was her signature play of the day that captured the attention of millions across the world. On a fast break, she went behind the back, faked a pass to Kamilla Cardoso, went under the rim, and went up with her right hand at the rim for the insane layup.

Men’s basketball off to fantastic start

The Gamecocks have started to earn some national attention and caught many by surprise. SEC play will start on Saturday and things could get tough. But there’s no denying it has been fun to watch good basketball in Columbia.

Softball goes on big run in postseason
The last few years had been tough for South Carolina softball as the cellar dwellers in the SEC. But after jumping out to a 28-5 start in non-conference play, the Gamecocks finished 9-15 in SEC play and made a big run in the conference tournament to get back to the postseason for the first time since 2019.
South Carolina came up one win short of winning an SEC championship. But once the NCAA Tournament began, the team got hot and rattled off three straight wins in two days to move within one win of moving on.
Unfortunately, the Gamecocks were no-hit by Florida State in the clinching game. But considering how far the team had come, there was still a lot to be happy about.
