Cam Scott officially inks with South Carolina
Four-star prospect Cam Scott has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue his basketball career at South Carolina under head coach Lamont Paris and his staff the team announced Thursday morning.
The top player in the state and a top-50 player nationally, Scott is a Lexington, S.C., native and will stay home to play for the hometown Gamecocks.

A two-time South Carolina Gatorade Player of the Year, he concluded his prep days as the school record-holder for career points (2,475) at Lexington High School, leading the Wildcats to a 28-2 record as a senior and the 5A state title. The 6-foot-6 shooting guard averaged 22.0 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.3 steals and 2.5 assists per game this past season. He was also the South Carolina 5A Player of the Year and finished his high school career the only four-time all-state selection in program history.
Scott scored 43 points, a school record, in a 95-53 win over White Knoll this season. As a junior, he averaged 19.2 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 2.4 steals per game. He helped the Wildcats to a 20-7 record and the semifinals of the state tournament that season. Scott was also named the 5A Region 4 Player of the Year as a junior.
He started playing varsity in the eighth grade, averaging 15.6 points and 6.0 rebounds per contest for Lexington. In 2021, he participated in the USA Men’s U16 National Team training camp. Scott will play in the Iverson Classic All-American game on May 4 in Hampton, Virginia, at the Hampton Coliseum. He will compete in the dunk contest on May 2 at Bethel High School in Hampton.

Scott joins current Gamecock Collin Murray-Boyles and former Gamecock greats Gregory “GG” Jackson II, PJ Dozier and Sindarius Thornwell as four-star South Carolina natives to stay home and play for the Gamecocks.
Scott joins a pair of top-150 recruits in the Gamecocks’ 2024 class in Okku Federiko (Helsinki, Finland) and Trent Noah (Baxter, Ky.)
In 11 games on the EYBL U20 circuit, Federiko averaged 19.6 points, 11.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists 2.7 steals and 2.0 blocks per game for Espoo Drive, helping the team to a perfect 11-0 record. He shot 54.3 percent from the field and nearly 80.0 percent at the free throw line.
In 39 games this season in helping lead Harlan County to the state title game, Noah averaged 29.9 points per game (third-best in the state of Kentucky), scoring 1,167 points while knocking down 102 3s. He finished his high school career with 3,707 points, 20 points shy of former North Laurel star Reed Sheppard’s 13th Region record of 3,727 career points.
