Collin Murray-Boyles set to participate in Nike Basketball Academy development camp
The spotlight and eyeballs on Collin Murray-Boyles only continues to grow as he returns for his sophomore season at South Carolina.
Murray-Boyles received an invitation to the 2024 Nike Basketball Academy Aug. 4-9, South Carolina announced on Friday. The event will take place at Nike World Headquarters in Oregon.
With this being an invite-only camp, the full roster will not be announced until after it begins on Sunday. But Murray-Boyles becomes the first Gamecock to partake in this event.
It will serve as an opportunity for Murray-Boyles to not only showcase his skills, but he’ll also get a chance to compete with and against some of the top high school and college basketball players in the country. While there, he’ll also be able to learn and train with current and past NBA players. NBA scouts and executives will be in attendance.
It’s been a great start to Murray-Boyles’ career in Columbia so far. The 6-foot-7 forward made the SEC’s All-Freshman team last year after he averaged 10.4 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. He also scored in the double-digits 13 times and led the team in field goal percentage at 59.7 percent shooting.

“Collin, he’s just a force. He can dribble it, he can shoot it. He can do pretty much everything,” his teammate Nick Pringle said.
With multiple veterans and starters like Meechie Johnson, Ta’Lon Cooper and BJ Mack gone, the Gamecocks will be counting on Murray-Boyles to continue to play well and develop into a leader in year two.
“Collin’s a dawg,” senior guard Jamarii Thomas said. “He goes and gets it. He gets his guys the ball. He can go get a bucket when he wants. He’s going to play a big part in this program.”
