South Carolina defeated Vanderbilt 28-7 to become bowl-eligible. Here’s everything LaNorris Sellers said after the game.

Q: LaNorris, you seemed to get more and more comfortable even in the rain. How good do you feel out there being able to do what you do?
Sellers: I’m feeling good. Like you said, it slowed down for me, just like more time, more experience. I’m just feeling good, comfortable.

Q: Two plays before Rocket’s touchdown to open the third quarter, you had that play where you were able to break out of a sack and threw a 51-yard pass. Can you kind of take us through that play, and what kind of happened on that?
Sellers: We had a play call and they covered it pretty good, better than we expected. I was also kind of late a little bit. Once he grabbed me. I mean, it’s pretty much like, I know I turned the ball over a lot so I was just don’t turn the ball over. And then he let go of me and then I seen green grass, and at that point, it’s just football, so just made a play.

Q: You’ve heard a couple of people here talk about scramble drill being an emphasis. What kind of goes into that scramble drill? How much do you think that extra emphasis has helped you since the bye week?
Sellers: It helps a lot. Because they got out of position, they’re so worried about me running the ball they let receivers turn free, run free. If they can get open while I’m scrambling and they come to get me, it’s like it just opens up the passing game.

Q: What have you seen from Rocket the last two weeks that has allowed him to play so well?
Sellers: He just kind of explodes out of nowhere. It’s not enough to say he just kind of exploded. We always knew he was good, but just like last couple weeks, I mean, he turned it up a little bit.

Q: What kind of goes into the decision of whether to tuck in and run or try to find a guy downfield for a pass?
Sellers: There’s just a clock in my head. They just preach it to me. They have been preaching to me just like a clock in my head, just because I’ve got my legs so why not use them.

Q: You’ll definitely be ranked in the AP poll this week, maybe even in the playoff ranking when that comes out on Tuesday. What would mean for you guys to break into the so-called national elite?
Sellers: We’ve been playing good all season, it’s just like a ranking’s just a ranking. I mean, of course, you want to be ranked, but it’s like you still got to go out there and play.

Q: Tree Babalade went in there in the second half. What did you see from him today?
Sellers: It’s a much bigger body. You know? He’s way bigger than Josiah (Thompson). So it’s like seeing over him, seeing around him sometimes, it’s kind of hard. But it’s like he’s back there to protect my left side, so it’s my backside. I gotta trust him, and I do.
