Everything LaNorris Sellers said after South Carolina's 23-19 win
Q: You had 22 carries today. How many were designed runs?
Sellers: We had the game design to go out there and run the ball. Just the way they play defense, it was going to be open. Then I had a couple of scrambles in there, but it was part of the game plan.
Q: When you talk about that game plan being run heavy, is that what you expect not only from tonight, but from the games going forward as well?
Sellers: Tonight, it was a three-man front and three safeties so it was a light box. We take what they give us. So we decided to run the ball. It will depend on the game plan week-to-week.
Q: The first game with helmet communication. How’d you feel like it went for you and was it ever a lot of voices in your ear?
Sellers: I think it was pretty good. It was cool. We’ve been doing it over fall camp, spring ball and stuff like that. So I mean, I thought it was pretty good for me. We can’t really hear Beamer, but I can talk to D-Lo, so that’s fine.
Q: What did you learn from your first start tonight and what do you think you have to get better at?
Sellers: So really, it’s not as easy as you might think it is. You’ve just got to prepare the right way. I need to get better just being patient, just being myself, just being confident.

Q: Was there ever a time you were frustrated or flustered and had to regroup?
Sellers: Nah. I just try not to show it really, because you still have to lead the team, you still have to go in the next drive, no matter what happens. I know if I fumble, I’ve still got to go in the next drive and keep pushing through. You can’t let it get to you. You’ve always got to have a next play mentality.

Q: With the in-helmet communication, what is Dowell Loggains saying to you when you’re out there?
Sellers: So the thing with him is he’s just going to let you go out there and play. So it’s really the play calls and then if we need to check into something, he’ll let me know watch for this, watch out for that. But he really just wants you to be yourself, so he don’t say too much.

Q: What do you make of your passing performance tonight?
Sellers: Yeah, I missed a couple of guys, I will say. Just got to keep practicing. Keep getting better. Build chemistry with those guys and come back next week better.
Q: You mentioned that chemistry building with receivers is something that kind of needs to be done. What’s kind of the challenge of that?
Sellers: I think it’s pretty good as a whole. I know we missed on some stuff, but first game you’ll miss stuff. It’s time to learn. We just keep getting better. Like I said, keep working, keep getting the chemistry better. We’ll be better
Q: What were you feeling in the tunnel before you got out on the field?
Sellers: It’s exciting for me as well. Our fans always have good turnout. Appreciate them sticking with us through the lightning delay. It’s always exciting to run out to 2001, the fans, just hearing the Go Gamecocks, stuff like that. It’s always good to hear.
