Everything LaNorris Sellers said after the Alabama game
South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers spoke with the media following South Carolina’s heartbreaking loss at Alabama.
Q: How would you evaluate your performance today compared to last week?
Sellers: I would say it was a little bit better. You try to make plays every game. I made some mistakes today, just like I did last week. It was alright.
Q: Can you take us through what you saw on the final possession after the onside kick?
Sellers: Really just, we’ve got to score. We didn’t really have timeouts. We ran that first play and it was down to like ten seconds left so we’ve got to take a shot to the end zone. We could have probably got an intermediate pass out and spiked the ball or whatever, but in that situation, you want to get to the end zone.
Q: What was the mindset when you were down 14-0?
Sellers: Just take it one play at a time. Next play mentality.
Q: How do you try to limit the turnovers?
Sellers: Really just practicing. That’s all you can do. Practice and get better and not turn the ball over.
Q: Can you walk us through the touchdown pass to Nyck Harbor and the two-point conversion?
Sellers: Really just get them flowing, come back the opposite way. We had a couple of routes there and the high one in the corner. The touchdown to Nyck was just one-on-one coverage on Nyck Harbor, a big, fast receiver, so why not throw it to him?

Q: How often do you work on the deep ball to Harbor?
Sellers: Pretty often. We work on it a lot. He’s not the only one we work on it with. We’ve got a lot of guys that can go. We practice deep balls, timing, putting it where we need to put it.
Q: What happened on the two-point conversion, did the pressure get to you?
Sellers: Yeah. That’s all it was, the pressure. They brought two off the edge. We didn’t expect it. They brought two off the edge We had what we wanted but they brought those guys off the edge.
Q: What is the theme with the fumbles?
Sellers: It’s probably just having the clock in my head, taking the sack when I need to take the sack. Just having the balance of trying to make a play and then taking the sack when I need to take the sack.
Q: You seemed to air it out a lot more this week. Was that because of something Alabama did?
Sellers: We pretty much knew coming in we had to balance it out and we could do whatever. Once we saw we had the shots we started taking them. They were playing heavy on the run and the shots were there.
