Final injury report for South Carolina vs. Kentucky
South Carolina football coach Shane Beamer already stated on Tuesday that tight end Trey Knox would likely be available for the Gamecocks’ Saturday matchup with Kentucky and that running back Dakereon Joyner and offensive lineman Trai Jones had already been ruled out for it.
Still, Beamer provided a final injury update, as he does every week, during his Thursday night call-in show.
“It’s good,” Beamer said of the health of the team. “Unless somebody gets hurt at the hotel tomorrow night or Saturday, we’re going to start the same offensive line for the third week in a row, which is huge. So those guys need to continue to get better, and we’ll need them this week because Kentucky’s really good up front on defense. But other than that, the guys that were injured before… Dakereon won’t play. Juju (McDowell) won’t play. Cason Henry’s out. Trai Jones is out. Juice Wells will not play. And Trey Knox will play.”

Knox, who has been dealing with a hamstring injury, dressed out and nearly returned last week against Vanderbilt but with the Gamecocks in control of the game and rainy conditions, Carolina held him out as more of a precaution.
Joyner left the Jacksonville State game early with an ankle injury and did not play last week against Vanderbilt.

Beamer announced on Saturday that McDowell will miss the final two games of the season with a broken collarbone.
Beamer added later during the call-in show Thursday that Wells, who has missed most of the season with a foot injury, was able to practice some on Tuesday. Beamer did not rule out the possibility of Wells playing in the season finale against Clemson.
South Carolina faces Kentucky this upcoming Saturday with a 7:30 p.m. kickoff at Williams-Brice Stadium. SEC Network will have the call.
