Final injury report for South Carolina vs. Vanderbilt
South Carolina football coach Shane Beamer had already ruled Dakereon Joyner and Trai Jones out for Saturday’s matchup and on Thursday the Gamecocks’ head man gave the latest on tight end Trey Knox in his final injury report of the week.
Beamer said on his Thursday call-in show that Knox will play this week against Vanderbilt while offensive tackle Cason Henry, who returned to action last week for the first time since Week 1 but then hobbled off during the game, will not play.

“I don’t think anything different than what we talked about on Tuesday,” Beamer said. “Trai Jones will be out again. I don’t think I mentioned Cason Henry actually (on Tuesday), but Cason Henry won’t play. He’ll be out this week, which is disappointing. He started the North Carolina game, got hurt on like the third play, had been out the whole season, came back last week, got hurt again. Hopefully, he won’t be long-term. Dakereon Joyner, I mentioned will not play. Juice (Wells) will not play this week. Trey Knox will play, and Jakai Moore and Vershon Lee are good to go. None of those guys are probably 100 percent, but they’re good enough and available on Saturday if we need them to be.”
Beamer added that Henry once again tweaked the same injury that had previously kept him out but that it was not as serious this time.
Henry, the opening day starter at right tackle, had played in just four snaps this season prior to last week when he returned to action.

Joyner and Jones were already ruled out earlier this week with Beamer saying on Sunday that Jones would miss the game and then on Tuesday that Joyner would too.
Joyner exited last week’s matchup with Jacksonville State with an ankle injury that he suffered in the second half.
Both Jones and Knox missed the Jacksonville State game after going down against Texas A&M.
Jones suffered a high-ankle sprain while Knox was dealing with a hamstring injury that he suffered while extending for a pass.
