Final South Carolina injury report before kickoff
South Carolina is getting one big player back this week but is still without one big contributor as well.
Shane Beamer said on his weekly call-in show the Gamecocks will get running back Christian Beal-Smith back while receiver Corey Rucker is still at least another week out before his return.

Beamer also mentioned they’re still waiting to see if RJ Roderick will be available after he exited on the Gamecocks’ first drive.
Beal-Smith was an incredibly productive player at Wake Forest but was limited for most of preseason camp with a foot injury.
He’s listed with Juju McDowell as the Gamecocks’ backup at running back behind MarShawn Lloyd.
In his career at Wake Forest, Beal-Smith rushed for 1,1871 yards (4.8 yards per carry) with 14 touchdowns. His return to the fold could bring a lot to South Carolina’s rushing attack.
“A lot. I mean he’s that consistent, low-to-the-ground stump basically. You give him the ball and he’s going to move that thing forward two or three yards at worst,” Marcus Satterfield said. “To have his maturity, he’s had a lot of experience playing at Wake. To get him back on the field will help us tremendously, especially at that position.”

Rucker, a very productive player at Arkansas State, is dealing with a foot injury as well and is slower coming back.
Roderick is a multi-year starter and suffered an arm injury during South Carolina’s first defensive drive.

If he’s not able to go, it’ll likely be Nick Emmanwori who starts. Beamer was incredibly complimentary of the freshman and how he stepped up Saturday.
