Former Gamecocks WR Bryan Edwards finds a new home

Former South Carolina Gamecock Bryan Edwards has been traded to the Atlanta Falcons.
The news, which was first reported by Vincent Bonsignore of Las Vegas Review-Journal, stated that the Las Vegas Raiders were trading away the wide receiver to the Falcons but the terms were not disclosed. ESPN’s Adam confirmed the report before adding that the Raiders are sending Edwards and a 2023 seventh-round pick to Atlanta in exchange for the Falcons’ 2023 fifth-round pick.
A third round draft pick by the Raiders in 2020, the USC product hauled in 45 receptions for 764 yards and four touchdowns in two seasons with Las Vegas. He’s coming off his most productive season in the league after snagging 34 catches for 571 yards and three touchdowns last season.
The news shouldn’t come as much of a surprise as news Raiders wide receiver Keelan Cole recently signed a one-year, $1.2675M deal, that included a $150K signing bonus, with Las Vegas.
Although this will be a change of scenery for Edwards, he’ll instantly compete for the Falcons No.2 WR spot in what has become a young and inexperienced room. With the departure of longtime Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan this offseason, Marcus Mariota is projected to start at QB this season for Atlanta.
