Former South Carolina guard AJ Lawson signs two-way deal
Former South Carolina guard AJ Lawson is getting another shot in the NBA.
According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, Lawson is signing a two-way contract with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
His contract comes on the heels of a really quality summer league performance where he averaged almost 16 points per game.

In five games, Lawson averaged 15.6 points on 51.9 percent shooting. He shot 50 percent from three on 2.6 attempts per game.
The former Gamecocks’ starter averaged six rebounds per game while piling on 1.4 assists as well.
Last season Lawson played with the College Park Skyhawks in the G Leauge.
In 33 games he averaged 11.8 points on 48.1 percent shooting with 6.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists.
Lawson came to South Carolina from Canada and found himself immediately in the starting lineup.

Over the course of three seasons, he played in 81 games with 80 starts. He averaged 14.2 points on 40.7 percent shooting.
Lawson was All-Freshman at South Carolina and was named to the All-SEC team for the 2021 season.
He went pro after his junior season with the Gamecocks.
