The South Carolina Gamecocks picked up a significant verbal commitment on Friday morning in standout offensive lineman Zyon Guiles.

The Carvers Bay product is ranked by On3 as the Palmetto State’s top prospect in the 2026 class and as the number 40 overall player in the country for the cycle.

At over 6-foot-4 and 290 pounds, Guiles drew scholarship offers from major programs across the country. The Gamecocks beat Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Miami, and Tennessee to land the pledge from Guiles.

“It’s not too far from where I live so that’s one big plus for me,” Guiles said last June, after receiving his scholarship offer from the Gamecocks. “I like Shane Beamer. Shane Beamer, he has like, how do I say this, he has a side of humor, you know. Not a lot of coaches have that outside of football, but you can joke around with him. You can joke around with (Lonnie) Teasley, joke around with the staff it’s just, it’s really fun. They’re family over there for sure.”

The On3 Industry Ranking – a weighted average of all four major recruiting services – tabs Guiles as the number 129 prospect in the country. The metric also ranks him as the number two prospect in South Carolina and the number seven interior offensive lineman in the country.

Guiles has an official visit set to Columbia for the weekend of June 6.

“I believe South Carolina’s been doing a great job recruiting Zyon,” his coach, Matthew Richard, told GamecockCentral.com in February. “Coach Teasley has really, really went over and beyond with his recruitment of Zyon. Coach Beamer and his staff, they’re just doing the little things right.”

The sixth verbal commitment in South Carolina’s 2026 class, Guiles joins DB J’Zavien Currence, DB Peyton Dyer, TE Jamel Howse, LB Keenan Britt, and OL Anthony Baxter as pledges to Shane Beamer’s program.
