Four-star offensive tackle Kamari Blair announced his final three schools ahead of his commitment Sunday afternoon.

Blair announced a trio of SEC schools — Tennessee, South Carolina, and Ole Miss — in his final three. The prospect set his commitment date for July 16 at 6 p.m. CST.

Recent months have seen South Carolina rank in Blair’s top schools. However, constant back and forth has continued between the top three schools.

Blair is listed at 6 feet 6 inches tall, weighing in at 280 pounds. While the Kirkwood High School senior played on both sides of the trenches, he is being recruited as an offensive lineman.

The Clarksville, TN native is a top-25 prospect at his position. He also sits as the No. 264-ranked prospect in the nation, No. 8 in Tennessee according to the On3 Industry Ranking.

Blair made multiple trips to Columbia, SC, before his official visit, first stopping by in April. During the visit, he spent time with offensive line coach Lonnie Teasley.

In June, Blair made all official visits with all three of his top picks, including the Gamecocks. Blair told GamecockCentral after the visit that the trip helped South Carolina in its recruitment.

“We showed up on Friday and had dinner at Coach (Shane) Beamer’s house immediately,” Blair said. “Then I went and hung out with the players for the night. Saturday morning, we had breakfast, went to the Soda City market, checked out the facilities, and then had some downtime.”

Blair highlighted hanging out with current players and the connections the Gamecock staff has with them as a special part of his visit. Teasley is a key reason for Blair’s interest in South Carolina, he said.

“The connection with the players can’t be matched,” Blair said. “Coach Beamer even makes the players know everybody’s name. A couple of the players said they were sitting in meetings and Coach Beamer called them out and made them name everyone in a row. That’s a lot different than other places in the country. The family, the brotherhood, is just beautiful.”

If the four-star prospect were to commit, he would join four-star Zyon Guiles and three-star Anthony Baxter as offensive line commits.

Blair said in April that his three biggest factors are academics, culture and development.

“But when it comes to a commitment, I think the thing that oversees all of that is how bad – like how much a school wants me,” Blair said at the time. “Because I’m not going to go to Georgia or Alabama just because they have all those things that they don’t want me. But, I mean, South Carolina has all of those things that I really look for in a school.”
